Carlo Bartoli (1931-2020)

 

Born in Milan in 1931, Carlo Bartoli began his career in 1959 after having graduated from the Istituto Politecnico.

He collaborated with numerous Italian and international companies, such as Arflex, Kartell, Rossi di Albizzate, Segis, Tisettanta.

In 1963, for Arflex, he designed an elegant and very practical system of panels and shelves, the B 146.

Also for Arflex, the Gaia armchair was one the first fiberglass furniture works made in Italy. It is now in the collections of the Moma in New York.

Designed in 1969 for Tisettanta, the very elegant Mito chair is now included in the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein.

With Fauciglietti Engineering and for Segis, he conceived the R606 UNO chair awarded with the Compasso d’Oro in 2008.
