Simon P. Henningsen (1920-1974)

 

The son of the world acclaimed lighting designer, Poul Henningsen, Simon P. Henningsen created his own style and earned celebrity with his own works.

A trendy restaurant in Copenhagen’s Tivoli Gardens, the « Divan 2 » asked him to design lights.

It was produced by Lyfa and immediately successful when presented in 1962. 

In 1963, it was exhibited at the Louvre in Paris and also in 1964 at Georg Jensen's, the famous silversmith, in New York. It was awarded many international prizes.

Henningsen made other models for Lyfa, the Kassablanka and Nippon pendants among these.
