Cini Boeri (1924-2020)

One of the great women in Italian design and architecture, Cini Boeri grew up in Milan where she studied at the Politecnico di Milano.

Having graduated in 1951, she worked for Gio Ponti before collaborating with Marco Zanuso.

She opened her own practice in 1963 with a focus on architecture, furniture design, exhibit design.

Cini Boeri had a fruitful collaboration with Knoll. She created showrooms for the company in Europe and America but also many pieces of furniture (Lunario tables).

She created also lights for Artemide and furniture for Arflex (Bobo, Strips, Bengodi).

Her design pieces were innovative while functional and comfortable.

As an architect, Cini Boeri was very careful of inserting her projects in the surrounding landscape to preserve harmony with nature. Her villas in Sardinia, Casa Bunker, Villa Rotonda, and Casa nel Bosco in Lombardy are a testimony to this approach.
