BAROVIER & TOSO

Barovier & Toso
Barovier & Toso is a glassworks known for its handcrafted collections of decorative Murano glass in the 20th century. Angelo Barovier's chemical innovations in crystalline glass production characterized his first collections of bottles and colored glass objects. Further innovations later led to the creation of a series of designs using multicolored murrine.
In the 1930s, they began experimenting with heavier glass forms with irregular surfaces and handles. In 1942, Barovier joined forces with the Toso brothers, other prominent glassmakers, to form Barovier & Toso, headquartered in Palazzo Contarini on Murano.
The company maintains traditional techniques while incorporating contemporary styles and forms.
