BRUNO MUNARI
Bruno Munari (1907-1998)
Bruno Munari is one of the major contributors of the 20th Century design, art and graphics.
Born in Milan, Munari was first deeply involved in the Futurist movement from the 20s to the end of the 40s. During this period, he designed innovative children’s books and acquired celebrity with his art projects, Macchina Aerea and Macchine inutili.
In 1948, he founded Movimento Arte Concreta (M.A.C.) with Gilo Dorfles, Gianni Monnet and Atanasio Soldati.
In 1958, he initiated an interest for kinetic art.
His design career is associated with the avant garde company Danese for which he conceived many successful and iconic works.
