MAÏLYS SEYDOUX-DUMAS
Born in Saumur, France, in 1967, Maïlys Seydoux-Dumas studied art at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, where she graduated in 1992.
She specialized in printmaking and etching and was an assistant to Jean Clerté.
Maïlys Seydoux-Dumas has expanded her practice to include painting as well as decorative arts, creating tapestries and a line of jewelry.
Her work is figurative and her subjects include self-portraits and intimate views of her studio. The environment and the objects that surround her are depicted in a poetic and introspective way to create inner landscapes.
The works of Maïlys Seydoux-Dumas have been exhibited in galleries and museums in France as well as internationally.
Her tapestries in particular are the result of a long collaboration with the artist and poet Haïm Kern, whose poems inspire and punctuate her work.
